Hi Barb – baking powder is a mix of soda and cream of tarter and often corn starch. https://www.simplyrecipes.com/the_difference_between_baking_soda_and_baking_powder/ You could try adding more corn starch, but I don’t think it’s necessary in this cookie. If the cookies are too crispy, just don’t cook them as long. Enjoy!
