You're baking it in 4.5-inch cake pans? Yes, the time for it to cook in a 4.5-inch cake would be reduced dramatically - similar to the cook time in this recipe https://www.barbarabakes.com/smash-cake-for-a-first-birthday/. The temperature would be the same. I would halve the ingredients and only fill the pans half full. Use any excess batter to make cupcakes.

Hi, I made this cake once, and I loved it. This time I want to bake one, but with 4.5 cake pans. Should I just adjust the quantities of the ingredients to the half?
And another question, the temperature and the time for it to be ready would be the same?
I hope you can help me, Thank you!

Thanks Betsey - I haven't done very much gluten-free baking, but I have had good luck using King Arthur's Gluten Free Baking Mix. King Arthur also has some gluten free recipes using their mix. http://search.kingarthurflour.com/search?asug=&view=grid&af=type%3Arecipes&w=gluten+free+all+purpose+baking+mix

Your cakes look and probably taste wonderful. Do you have any gluten-free recipes for your cakes? I was diagnosed with Celiac diasease ten years ago and I have to adhere to a gluten-free diet. Thank you for the eye-candy?

Hi there!

This sounds amazing and a little bit like a cake my daughter had at Cheesecake Factory. I love the combo of cake and cheesecake in a single cake.

I do not know anything about high altitude baking though, nor how to convert a recipe from/to a high altitude recipe. I do not live at a high altitude, do you think I need to adjust the recipe accordingly?

Thanks so much!

Kate

Ps - loved today's recipe too with the chocolate cake and coconut filling - love that combo. Thank you, thank you!

Hi Ela - Yes it is adapted for high altitude. Cakes I usually adjust for altitude, cookies just sometimes depending on the recipe, other than those I find I don't usually have to adjust for my altitude about 4,000 feet. I generally note in the post and/or recipe if it's been adjusted.
