This may not come as a surprise to any of my readers, but my favorite part of Thanksgiving is the dessert/pie. It’s so hard to narrow it down to just one kind of pie, so this year I made three pies for nine of us. My husband loves pumpkin, my daughter requested Cranberry Apple Streusel and for my mom, who loved lemon desserts I made this month’s Daring Baker’s challenge a Crostata and topped it with lemon curd.
My mom was so pleased that I made lemon “pie” for her because “I know she loves lemon!” I miss you mom!

I just ran across your site and am so very intrigued! I am especially interested in what you call “Crostata con la Crema with Lemon Curd”, am on that page and, unlike every other page I’ve opened on this site, there is no recipe/s available. So, would you please tell me where to find the recipe/s for this beautiful pie? Or is it a compilation of recipes from the site mentioned above-Daring Bakers? If so, I would love to know what went into it besides Lemon Curd. Thanks for your help!
Barbara
Hi Elaine – thanks for your interested in the recipe. You’re right, this post was very short compared to my usual post. My sweet mom died two days earlier and I was lucky to get a post up. The recipe is on the Daring Bakers site http://thedaringkitchen.com/recipe/crostata. Enjoy!

I’m awfully late in commenting Barbara, but this looks really wonderful. I enjoyed this pastry – it was quite tasty. I did mincemeat and frangipane but now I wish I had done lemon!

Oh, your mom must have been so happy! Your pies look wonderful! I’d want a little slice of each. 🙂

You are an incredibly thoughtful and talented woman! Three different pies for three very important people – amazing, you are. My favorite is pumpkin pie, so I’d have to side with your husband. Lovely!

What a beautiful crostata Barbara! And those other pies are gorgeous as well.. I’m sure those eating with you on Thanksgiving were very thankful of your great baking skills 🙂

I guess we are allowed a slice of each? The lemon crostata is just gorgeous, Barbara! Wow! It looks fabulous on a festive dessert buffet table.

I love offering options for dessert too (so I can sample them all)! Your crostata with lemon curd looks lovely.

I can’t believe how beautiful that is, and sounds just delicious.

All three pies sound wonderful, but I love the beauty of your lattice topped lemon pie! May I have a slice of each please? 🙂

Beautiful pies Barbara. I would be hard pressed to pass up that crostata with lemon curd.
