Crispy Treats dressed up with a drizzle of orange and black candy melts are the perfect treat this year for Halloween.
Today’s recipe is sponsored by PAM Cooking Spray. PAM Cooking Spray has been a staple in our house for many years, and I jumped at the chance to work with them to create a holiday recipe. My husband and I were brainstorming ideas, thinking about ways we use PAM Cooking Spray, and Crispy Treats came to mind.
My husband is the Crispy Treat maker in our house, so I asked him to help me make this fun Halloween version.
Of course, one of the first things you’ll need to do when making Crispy Treats is spray the pan with PAM Cooking Spray so the Crispy Treats don’t stick to the pan. Another tip is to use an extra large bowl, so you have plenty of room for mixing the crispy treats, and the marshmallow and butter mixture is evenly distributed.
Once the Crispy Treat mixture is well mixed, you need to press it evenly in the pan.
My husband’s found it’s easiest and quickest to use your hands to press it into the pan. To keep the mixture from sticking to his hands, he sprays his hands with PAM Cooking Spray.
Once the Crispy Treats are completely cool, I like to remove them from the pan to cut them into squares.
To help you get nice straight squares, you can use a ruler, and a long serrated knife. Spraying the knife with PAM Cooking Spray helps keep the knife from sticking while you cut.
Once you’ve cut your Crispy Treats into squares, it’s easy to decorate them with some fun orange and black candy melts. You can buy candy melts at craft stores. I bought mine at Michael’s, but I’ve also seen them at Hobby Lobby and specialty stores like Orson Gygi.
I like to use the microwave and melt the Candy Melts in quart-size zipper storage bags. Then you can just snip off a corner of the bag and start piping, which makes clean up a lot easier.
These Halloween Crispy Treats were a huge hit at my house. My husband had to go to work after he helped me make the Crispy Treats, but he left before they had cooled and been decorated. By the time he got back home, the rest of the family had devoured the Crispy Treats and he didn’t get any. I guess that just means I’ll have to make another batch soon.

- ⅓ cup black candy melts
- PAM Cooking Spray

PAM Cooking Spray leaves *99% less residue than margarine or bargain-brand cooking sprays too. (* vs. leading cooking sprays (except olive oil), after spraying on glass bakeware, baking at 400°F for 30 min, cooling, and then washing in standard home dishwasher with detergent and repeating 4 times).

Perfect for the season (and to be honest, anytime). The kids coming for the weekend will love them!

Crispy treats are a favorite here. I’ve loved them ever since I was a kiddo. My Nana would always have a plate on the table waiting for me when she knew I was walking to her house after school. Yours look delicious and so festive decorated for Halloween.
Yes indeed-you need to make another batch so your husband can have some. I LOVE his idea of spraying your hands with Pam to press the treats into the pan. I usually spray the silicone spatula to get that sticky stuff spread out…it would go A LOT faster using my hands. I’ll be doing that next time for sure. 🙂
