Hello- I the butter in the main recipe is softened not melted- just room temperature and the butter for the topping is cold butter that is mixed with the flour and sugar to form a crumb like texture- hope that helps]]></description>

They should be fine if they are a little tart and no, you just throw them in frozen, no issues there.]]></description>
