It’s always fun to look back over the past year and see which recipes brought readers to my site. Some of my favorite recipes that I posted several years ago were the most popular again in 2013. Pinterest has been a wonderful tool to help people discover terrific, past recipes that they missed before.
#10 – Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Cookies – these luscious cookies are loaded to the brim with sweet, salty, crunchy goodness. Emily from Is This Really My Life was kind enough to share this cookie recipe in a guest post while I was on vacation, and these cookies have been popular on Pinterest. Click here Pin It.
#9 – Three Easy Round Steak Meals – this recipe gets a lot of traffic from Google. People just don’t know what to do with round steak. It’s a tougher cut of beef that needs a long, slow braise to bring out it’s tender, delicious flavor. Pin It.
#8 – Snickerdoodle Bread – continues to be a super popular recipe. Lots of other bloggers have posted slightly adapted versions of my Snickerdoodle bread and it always gets rave reviews. Pin It.
#7 – Bacon Wrapped Cheese Hot Dogs – I posted this recipe in 2012, but it became popular again this year when Shape magazine featured it in an article declaring it one of ” five of the best bacon dishes we’ve even seen—recommended for looking, not tasting.” Although between you and me, one hot dog including the bun is only about 400 calories so it’s not too bad for an occasional meal. And I did serve it on a whole wheat bun ? Pin It.
#6 – Lemon Bar Cookie Cups – this is one of my all time favorite cookies. The cookie cup is easier to make and serve than lemon bars, but has the same sweet/tart, craveable combination of flavors. Pin It.
#5 – Best Blueberry Streusel Muffins – these are the perfect blueberry muffin. A tender, fluffy muffin loaded with blueberries and topped with a sweet, crumbly streusel top – irresistible. Pin It.
#4 – Candied Cinnamon Roasted Almonds – these nuts have been very popular this holiday season. Easy-to-make, addicting, sweet, crunchy, candy coated cinnamon roasted almonds just like you get at the mall. Pin It.
#3 – Easy German Chocolate Cake – This cake starts with a cake mix, but adding buttermilk to the mix makes the cake super moist. Then it’s topped with an easy-to-make Coconut Almond frosting that dresses it up to make it the perfect cake for almost any occasion. Pin It.
#2 – Julia Child’s French Bread – This recipe was also on the most popular list last year. It’s an easier to make version of Julia Child’s French Bread recipe. Pin It.
#1 – Strawberry Cheesecake with an Oreo Cookie Crust – this recipe has been popular on Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest. The picture really draws people in, but this spectacular cheesecake tastes as good as it looks, and definitely deserves the top spot this year. Pin It.

Every single recipe is mouthwatering, Barbara. Though I might not always leave a comment, you are one of my favorite blogs. How I’d love to be a house guest of yours, to enjoy your food. You have inspired me to use my pressure cooker more often, too. Happy New Year, and thanks for all your terrific posts.
