In reply to Kath. Hi Kath - did you use the Red Star Yeast Sourdough yeast? Did you check the temperature of your water to make sure it wasn't too hot and kill the yeast? Yes that was the correct amount of flour.

I just made these, put them in the refrigerator overnight. The flavor was ok but not great & they didn’t raise. Straight out of the fridge (I let it sit for an hour) they were so thick they wouldn’t spread so I added more milk to give them a pancake batter consistency.
What did I do wrong? Recipe says you can use all all-purpose flour so I added the 2 1/2 cups then the 1 1/4, was that correct?
Help, I was looking forward to some good sour dough pancakes.
