I did add 1 tsp. caramel extract to the dough thinking that would play nice with the ingredients in the Snickers bar….it did. I also found I didn’t have any semisweet chocolate chips (WHO runs out of those????) so I substituted 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of Ghiradelli caramel chips…..they worked perfectly-just the right blend with the candy pieces. My daughter and her boys enjoyed them too. She and I decided the next time she or I makes them-oh yes there will be a next time for me-a little sprinkle of sea salt over top of each one before baking would be a nice touch…so nice that the bulk of them would be in the freezer so that we’d keep away from them! Thanks again Barbara for sharing this recipe-it immediately got copied onto a recipe card and got filed in my “favorites” recipe box-I want this one right at my fingertips on baking day.

Now I know what I’m going to make with them. My grandsons would LOVE these (as would everyone else I’m sure), so I’ll be adding this recipe to my “to do” list for the next few days. I seriously have kitchen envy….what a beautiful kitchen you have…and isn’t that multiple ovens thing FANTASTIC?? I have 2 ovens….one wall oven and a free standing convection oven that bakes 3 sheets of cookies at once…..what a time saver huh? I bet your new neighbors were thrilled to see you coming with those goodies-I sure would be. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing the recipe!
