    Corn Chowder

2010 was a great year for Barbara Bakes! It was filled with fun adventures in the kitchen and I learned so much. I got a fabulous new camera and spent a lot of time trying to take better pictures. I went to my first food convention and my first bake-off.

But the best part of 2010 was all of the friends that shared the adventures with me. Thank you to all of my wonderful readers/subscribers. I appreciate everyone who stopped by and checked out my recipes. Your sweet comments always brighten my day.

Here are the top 10 reader’s favorite recipes of 2010:

    Peach Jam

#10 Peach Jam and Perfect Pesto – a little taste of summer sunshine.

    King Arthur Brownie 2

#9 King Arthur Flour Fudge Brownies – the best brownies I have ever made. A perfect balance of fudgy with just a touch of cakey.

    Chocolate-Pumpkin-Spice-Kiss-Cookies-2

#8 Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Kiss Cookies – a Pumpkin Spice Kiss hidden inside a rich chocolate, chewy cookie.

#7 Banana Nutella Bread – my favorite banana bread recipe with a pretty, decadent Nutella swirl.

    Bacon-Mac-and-Cheese-3

#4 Bacon Mac & Cheese with Gruyère – a delicious, dressed up mac and cheese, that’s very easy to make and is perfect as a main dish.

    Lemon-Glazed-Christmas-Wreath-Cookies

#3 Lemon Glazed Christmas Wreath Cookies – a beautiful lemon glazed wreath cookie for the holidays.

    Candy-Corn-Macaron

#2 Candy Corn Macaron for MacTweets – a mac inspired by candy corn and filled with Pumpkin Spice Kisses.

Featured Image for post Fresh Corn Chowder

#1 Fresh Corn Chowder – boiling the corn cobs in the chowder water intensifies the flavor of this delicious soup, which I also loaded up with potatoes and bacon.

Definitely a delicious year at my house. I hope it was a your house too!

Wishing you all a happy new year filled with fabulous food and wonderful adventures in your kitchen.

YUP – I would say the fresh corn chowder takes the cake – but, what a GORGEOUS parade of delectable goodies. The macarons deserve a standing ovation, too!
I am copying the soup recipe. I love corn chowders and happen to have some fresh (frozen) corn on hand… (well – it IS winter) but this soup would definitely hit the spot. I love looking back at the favourites. What a great idea1
