Monster Cookies Recipe

Monster cookies are peanut butter oatmeal cookies that have M&M candies in them AND chocolate chips. Seriously, this cookie has it ALL and everyone loves them!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup old fashioned oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or milk chocolate
  • 1 cup MM candies

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl add the butter and peanut butter together and beat well until combined.
  • Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar and beat until well creamed.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla and mix to combine.
  • Add the flour, oatmeal, baking soda, and salt to the bowl and stir to combine.
  • Add the chocolate chips and chocolate candies and stir to combine.
  • Cover and chill the dough for 20 minutes or as long as overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. and line a baking sheet with parchment or a baking mat.
  • Form the dough into balls that are 2 tabelspoons and place on the cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. You can add a few more candies or chocolate chips to the top of the cookie ball to make them a little prettier if you'd like.
  • Bake until the edges are lightly browned and the center set, 12-15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to rest on the baking sheet for minutes before placing them on a wire rack to finish cooling.

Notes

This recipe works best with a thicker peanut butter that isn't too drippy. I recommend not using a natural peanut butter and if you do, make sure it's well stirred and not too drippy.
