- 1 pie shell unbaked,single crust 9 inch
- 2 ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 3 eggs
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Make the pie crust and shape it into a 9 inch pie pan.
In a mixing bowl, sift together the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.
Add the evaporated milk, eggs, and melted butter to the bowl and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Pour the mixture into the pie shell and use a spatula to spread it evenly.
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 55 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly wobbly in the middle.
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool to room temperature on a wire rack.
Once the pie has cooled, it can be served immediately, or refrigerated for later. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
