Birthday Cupcakes

Birthday cupcakes made with a cake mix: a shortcut to sweetness and a sprinkle-filled celebration!

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 3.4 oz package vanilla pudding mix
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs

For the Cupcake Cake:

  • 24 cupcake liners
  • Cake board

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a cupcake pan with 24 cupcake liners.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, melted butter, milk, and eggs. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully combined.
  • Portion the cupcake batter into the 24 prepared cupcake liners, filling each one about two-thirds full.
  • Bake the cupcakes in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.

For the Cupcake Cake:

  • Once the cupcakes have cooled completely, prepare a cake board by placing the cupcakes on it in a way that they touch each other closely. This will create a pull-apart cupcake cake effect.
  • Frost the cupcakes with your favorite frosting, using various cupcake tips in different sizes and shapes to fill in and cover the entire area.
  • For this recipe, an American buttercream frosting works well, but you can use any frosting of your choice.
  • Be creative and decorate the cupcake cake as desired for the occasion.

Notes

You can add food coloring to the frosting to make it more vibrant and festive.
You can also add sprinkles, edible decorations, or other toppings to enhance the cupcake cake's appearance.
Store any leftover cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days, or in the refrigerator for longer storage.
