HOMEMADE PRETZEL BITES

If you’re looking for a tasty, fun, and oh-so-satisfying treat, look no further than the warm, chewy, and utterly addictive world of Homemade Pretzel Bites.

 INGREDIENTS

– 1 ½ warm water – 2 ¼ teaspoons ¼ oz envelope of active dry yeast – 1 tablespoon light brown sugar – 1 teaspoon salt – 4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour – 2 tablespoons salted butter melted Baking Soda Bath – 4 cups water – ¼ cup baking soda Butter and salt topping *OPTIONAL* – 2 tablespoons melted butter – Sea salt Kosher salt

Mix warm water, yeast, and brown sugar in a large bowl. Let it rest for 4-5 minutes until it foams.

Add salt and half the flour, mix until almost combined. Then add butter and mix until incorporated.

Add the remaining flour and mix until fully incorporated. Use your hands to finish mixing into a dough ball.

Place the dough in a covered bowl and let it rise in a warm place for 90 minutes or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and form it into small balls using a cookie scoop or by hand. Bring a pot of water to a boil, then add baking soda. Carefully boil the dough balls for 30-45 seconds.

Transfer the boiled dough balls onto a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or lightly oiled. Bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes until golden.

Remove from the oven, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with kosher salt. Allow the pretzel bites to cool for at least 20 minutes on a cooling rack. Serve and enjoy!
