Ingredients
12lasagna noodles
3cupsshredded mozzarella
1cupfreshly grated parmesan
2 ½cupsricotta
1tablespoonItalian seasoning
3 ½cupsmarinara sauce(or your favorite pasta sauce)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Cook your lasagna noodles just until al dente, drain them, and pat them dry. Lay them out on a kitchen towel to prevent them from sticking to each other.
In a large bowl, stir together 2 ½ cups of mozzarella, ⅔ cup of parmesan, and all of the ricotta.
Use a spoon or spatula to spread the filling out over each of the lasagna noodles. Roll each lasagna noodle like you would a cinnamon roll.
Cover the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish in a thin layer of marinara sauce.
Add each of the lasagna roll-ups and cover with the remaining sauce. Sprinkle the top of the dish with the remaining cheese.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 35 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven, take off the foil, and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
Notes
Sauce Options: While marinara is classic, try alfredo sauce, pesto, or even a simple butter and herb sauce for variety. Different sauces can completely transform the flavor profile while keeping the same beloved roll-up format.Size Adaptations: This recipe works perfectly in individual ramekins for elegant single servings, or you can make mini versions using manicotti shells instead of lasagna noodles.Herb Enhancement: Fresh herbs like basil, oregano, or parsley added to the cheese mixture or sprinkled on top before serving elevate the flavors significantly.Storage:Cool completely before refrigerating and store covered for optimal freshness and to prevent the top from drying out. Individual roll-ups can be removed and reheated separately, making leftovers even more convenient than traditional lasagna.
