Have you start your shopping yet? I’m actually doing pretty well on mine. If you need some gift ideas, here’s some of my kitchen favorites:
Topping the list again this year is my Breville Convection Toaster Oven. This little oven gets used more than my full size oven. It makes perfect toast; has a bagel setting that doesn’t burn the back side of the bagels. It preheats quickly, so it’s fun to keep cookie dough in the freezer and bake just one or two cookies when a craving hits.
My Instant Pot IP-DUO Electric Pressure Cooker is the most used appliance in my kitchen. Pressure cooking is the only way I cook rice, potatoes, and hard-boiled eggs. It makes preparing dinner so much quicker and easier. It has the ease of a slow cooker, but in a fraction of the time. I post weekly recipes on Pressure Cooking Today, so buy one for yourself and start pressure cooking with me!
If the Instant Pot is a little out of your budget, I also love my Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker. Right now at my local Costco, they’re selling the Cuisinart for only $69.
My Blendtec Blender has made making smoothies in the morning a breeze. I use to keep the blender in the cupboard, but the Blendtec works so well it’s now earned a place on the counter.
One of the tools I couldn’t do without in the kitchen is my scoops. I use a size Size 16 to portion out batter for cupcakes and muffins, and to divide batter evenly between pans. The Size 40 is perfect for making cookies. All your cookies will be round and the same size when you use a scoop, and it’s so much quicker. If you’re not using scoops, you need to buy some for yourself or for someone to give you.
OXO Non-Stick Cookware Set – these are the tools I reach for most in the kitchen. I love the pancake turner because it’s so thin. It’s perfect for flipping pancakes, but I also use it for moving cookies from the baking sheets to the cooling racks. The tongs are great for opening the valve on the pressure cooker, or picking up spaghetti and swirling it on a plate.
OXO 2-Cup Angled Measuring Cup – I love this little angled measuring cup for measuring liquids. You don’t have to strain your neck trying to look at the side of the cup while you’re measuring. The fill line is inside the cup.
Baking Chez Moi: Recipes from My Paris Home to Your Home Anywhere – a beautiful new cookbook from the queen of baking Dorie Greenspan. I own several of Dorie’s cookbooks and if you’re a baker, you need to add this gorgeous cookbook to your collection.
Cooking Light Mad Delicious: The Science of Making Healthy Food Taste Amazing – I reviewed this cookbook a couple of weeks ago. My son loved the recipes and fun illustrations describing fundamental cooking methods so much he confiscated this book.
My good friend, Deborah, from Taste and Tell, is the queen of red velvet and this fall she released a fun, cute, little cookbook, The Red Velvet Lover’s Cookbook: Best-Ever Versions for Everything Red Velvet. This is the perfect gift for the red velvet lover in your life.
The Skinnytaste Cookbook: Light on Calories, Big on Flavor is on my wish list. Gina’s skinny recipes don’t use a lot of artificial, strange ingredients to cut calories. She just bulks up the recipes with vegetables and other better for you ingredients.

I know I’m biased, but I would love any and all of these gift ideas! So great to cut down work time in the kitchen and so much more useful than picture frames and ties! 🙂 Great ideas!

Um, forget gifts for others, I want them all for myself. I could use each and everyone of the items you have gathered. What a fantastic list for the home cook!

I don’t have an electric pressure cooker. I have the old kind but not an electric one. I think I need to add one to the wish list. 🙂
