Black Angus Cheesy Garlic Bread is perfect to serve with your favorite Italian meal or that steak you’re grilling. It’s ooey, gooey, rich and buttery, and crisp and crunchy.

I try to make healthy food choices most days, but some days I just want something decadent. We would sometimes go to Black Angus just because we loved their cheesy garlic bread. Unfortunately, they closed all the Black Angus restaurants in Utah.
I served some boring garlic bread at a recent party at my house and knew I could do better. So I did an Internet search for Black Angus cheesy garlic bread and lots of websites had the recipe. Apparently it was given by David R. Ford, Black Angus Executive Chef to The Sacramento Bee, Mar 29, 1995.

Sliced Black Angus Cheesy Garlic Bread

It tasted just exactly like I remembered. Crispy, cheesy, flavorful, and fattening. The buttery garlic spread is what really makes this garlic bread great. Sometimes I’ll just use half of it, especially if my loaf of French bread isn’t really large.

Next time you’re looking for a great garlic bread to serve with your meal, give this Black Angus Cheesy Garlic Bread a try.

I worked at Black Angus as a young adult and have made this recipe my whole adult life. Exact recipe (although they may have changed it later as I worked there in the early 90s)  we used a cheddar jack mixture, but i love asiago cheese also. Love your recipe as well!

During Covid-19, Corona Virus. We would go to Black Angus for their cheesy garlic bread. Unfortunately they went out of business. I added this cheesy garlic bread spread to some grocery store frozen garlic bread no one really liked. It turned into the most amazing garlic bread! I added it to plan bread french bread, rolls, etc… Thank you for this amazing receipt!!

Thanks Betty – if you prefer sourdough bread, I imagine that would work well.

Good gracious that looks wonderful. I’m not a big bread eater-although I do love to make it!-but bread with garlic and cheese? That’s hard for even me to resist. I’m with you Barbara-we eat healthy for the most part but every so often, you just have to indulge….and this is a great way to do it!

I’ve never heard of Black Angus but who needs it when you can make that bread? Looks so good! I’d make that with a big, cheesy saucy pasta dish and be in heaven!
