I bought this cute little bear bowl on my recent trip to Alaska and I’ve been looking for a great snack to make to fill it. When I saw the Microwave Caramel Popcorn recipe in the new Real Mom Kitchen Cookbook, I knew I’d found the perfect recipe. The Microwave Caramel Popcorn was quick, easy and addictively delicious.
Laura’s new cookbook is filled with quick, easy, delicious recipes to “make putting food on the table less stressful so you can enjoy your family time.” Real Mom Kitchen will be released next month. I was fortunate to have been given a digital copy to review. It’s a fun, colorful cookbook filled with recipes for busy moms. I couldn’t be happier for Laura for publishing her first cookbook. It’s so fun to have someone you know succeed. (Info on the cookbook giveaway is at the bottom of the post.)
My husband and I met Laura early one morning when we walked by her street and she was out on her front porching photographing food. I said to my husband, “that’s a food blogger.” So I went over and introduced myself.
I asked Laura why she thought there are so many great food bloggers in Utah. She believes it’s because of the amazing women who came before us, our mothers and grandmothers. In fact, both this Microwave Caramel Popcorn recipe and her favorite recipe in the cookbook, Oven Stew, come from her mom.
Real Mom Kitchen gets about a quarter of a million hits every month and Laura was approached by two book companies after a story featuring her was on ksl.com.
This Microwave Caramel Popcorn is mentioned on the back cover of the cookbook, as well as a popular post on Real Mom Kitchen. Be sure and stop by and congratulation Laura and pre-order a copy of Real Mom Kitchen.

I have a lot of cookbooks and frequently check them out at the library too. I know it’s a great cookbook when I can find at least 5 recipes that I’ll use. I’ve been following Laura’s blog for a while now, and know that there will be several recipes that I will use. I really want to win her cookbook!

Hi food lovers!!! I’m Jamie. Eating FOOD is one of my favorite hobbies!! I’m not a mom yet (hopefully by next year, I will be!). I’m a 31 year old newlywed. I went from having a piece of toast with a fried egg on it for dinner every night (sooo delicious to me) to having to feed a man who can eat three heaping plate fulls of food per dinner!!! I’m all thumbs in the kitchen when it comes to baking and cooking…If I get out the right size bowl the first time, or don’t spill anything, or don’t turn the kitchen into a destruction zone then it’s great!! This is rare!! I do have my mom’s knack for making things taste good, thank heavens! or i would give up altogether. I would love this cookbook so i can practice making delicious food and having a smooth running kitchen so that when my kids arrive wearing combat helmets…I’ll be ready for them!!!! Thanks for documenting your deliciusness!
Sincerely,
Jamie

What a fun way to meet someone! I’ve always wondered what my neighbors would think if they were looking in my windows at the moment I was standing with one foot on a chair and the other on my washer trying to get a good angle on the food propped up on my dryer by the window with the best late afternoon light in the house. It’s good to have food blogger friends to realize you aren’t alone. 🙂 Also to give you wonderful recipes like this one. It looks delicious!

Barbara I just love that bowl it is so cute! What a great treat you found to fill it with. I have to try making this. I did learn that “mushroom” popcorn is the best kind to use for caramel corn!
Rosa
