Start your day with a nutritious Strawberry Oats Coconut Chia Smoothie made with coconut milk, loaded with strawberries, oatmeal, and chia seeds for additional protein and fiber.
If you want to change up your usual bowl of oatmeal, try blending it with strawberries in to a delicious smoothie. Smoothies are a great, easy way to get more fruits and vegetables in to your diet.
This Strawberry Oats Coconut Chia Smoothie recipe is from a colorful, fun new cookbook written by my good friend and fellow food blogger, Deborah Harroun, Taste and Tell. Deb is a busy mom with three little kids who can be picky eaters. She started serving them smoothies in the morning to make sure they were getting the nutrition they needed.
All of the recipes in Best 100 Smoothies for Kids are free of added sugars and packed with fruits, vegetables and flavors that kids will love. But it’s not only kids that love starting the day with a smoothie, I always feel better when I start the day with a healthy breakfast.
Deb hasn’t stopped with just breakfast smoothie recipes. She’s also included recipes for lunchtime smoothies, snacktime smoothies, dessert smoothies and bedtime smoothies, as well as great smoothie making tips. I’m kind of smoothie challenged, always adding too much spinach or not enough fruit, so this cookbook is perfect for me.
There’s a smoothie recipe for everyone to love in Best 100 Smoothies for Kids; the recipes are great for kids of any age. Details on how you can win a copy are at the bottom of this post!

I love a good strawberry and banana smoothie. I do think that once I try this one, it will become a favorite.

This looks very good. A couple things I love about it. – normal ingredients one is likely to have on hand and no banana. Banana completely hijacks the flavor of anything it’s included in. I think strawberry might be my favorite flavor of smoothie. Going to try this for breakfast this week.

Healthy, nourishing and delicious! A great way to start the day.
