I’ve served these at countless family dinners, and they’ve converted more Brussels sprouts skeptics than I can count!
While the Parmesan and Italian seasoning combo is fantastic, this recipe is incredibly versatile. Add balsamic vinegar for tang, red pepper flakes for heat, or swap in your favorite seasonings.
Ingredient Notes
Brussels sprouts: I get fresh when I can but frozen can work in a pinch.
Italian seasoning: If you don’t have Italian seasoning, you can make your own by combining equal parts of oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme.
Parmesan Cheese: I prefer freshly grated!

Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups Brussels sprouts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes at 370°. Make sure the ends of your Brussels sprouts have been trimmed off.
- In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, Brussels sprouts, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Use a large spoon or spatula to fold the ingredients together until the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated.
- Transfer the Brussels sprouts to the air fryer basket and cook them for 10 minutes at 370°. Shake the basket halfway through to help cook the Brussels sprouts evenly.
- Top your Brussels sprouts with a little bit of extra Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- Olive oil is key to giving the sprouts a nice crunchy exterior. If you don’t have olive oil, you can use any other high heat oil like vegetable or canola oil.
- Other spices you can add to these Brussels sprouts include red pepper flakes, paprika, onion powder, sea salt, and freshly ground pepper.
- You can make your own Italian seasoning by combining equal parts oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme.
- Try paprika for smokiness, onion powder for extra savory notes, or sea salt and freshly ground pepper for simplicity.
- You can cook these Brussels sprouts whole, cut them in half, or quarter them. (Bigger ones need cut in half or quarters.)
- These Brussels sprouts are best served fresh; however, you can store your leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
- Reheat leftovers in the air fryer for 5 minutes at 380°.

Add red pepper flakes or a pinch of black pepper for some heat.
Bacon Brussels Sprouts
Cook some air fryer bacon first, crumble it, and toss with the finished sprouts.

FAQs for Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts Recipe
Yes, but you’ll need to adjust your approach! Thaw them completely first and pat them very dry with paper towels – excess moisture is the enemy of crispiness. You may need to add 2-3 extra minutes to the cooking time. Fresh Brussels sprouts will always give you better results, but frozen works in a pinch.
The most common culprits are overcrowding the air fryer basket or not using enough olive oil. Make sure your sprouts have space to breathe and are well-coated with oil. Also, ensure you’re shaking the basket halfway through. If they’re still not crispy enough, cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Not necessarily! You can cook Brussels sprouts whole, halved, or quartered – it’s your choice. Whole sprouts (if small to medium-sized) work beautifully and take about 10 minutes. Halving them creates more surface area for crispiness and reduces cooking time slightly. Just aim for uniform sizes so everything cooks evenly.

My Best Tips for Making Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts
☞ Don’t Overcrowd: Give your Brussels sprouts room to breathe! Overcrowding creates steam instead of crispy goodness. If you’re cooking a large batch, work in batches rather than cramming them all in at once.
☞ Big Sprouts: If your Brussels sprouts are particularly large, consider cutting them in half. Smaller sprouts cook faster and get crispier. Aim for uniform sizes so everything finishes at the same time.
☞ Halfway Shake: Set a timer for 5 minutes so you don’t forget to shake that basket! This simple step ensures all sides get beautifully caramelized and prevents any burnt spots.
What to Serve With Air Fryer Roasted Brussels Sprouts
These Brussels sprouts are absolutely phenomenal alongside roasted chicken, grilled chicken breasts, or even air fryer chicken thighs. The savory Parmesan complements poultry perfectly. I especially love serving them with lemon herb chicken for a bright, balanced meal.
They also pair perfectly with beef dishes like seared ribeye, grilled flank steak, or even a tasty meatloaf that’s covered in tomato gravy. The crispy texture and cheesy flavor hold their own against rich, hearty beef dishes.
Storage & Reheating Tips
These Brussels sprouts are absolutely best served fresh when they’re at their crispiest. However, life happens, and leftovers are sometimes inevitable!
Store any extras in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
To reheat, pop them back in the air fryer for 5 minutes at 380°F. This brings back much of that original crispiness – way better than microwaving! Avoid the microwave if possible, as it makes them soggy.
