🌽 Ready in just 15 minutes, this air fryer method is faster than boiling and requires minimal cleanup. Perfect for busy weeknights or when you want fresh corn without the hassle of firing up the grill.

My 2 Best Tips For Making Air Fryer Corn on the Cob

Choose the Right Corn: Select ears with bright green husks, golden-brown silk, and plump kernels. Fresh corn should feel heavy for its size and have kernels that release a milky liquid when pierced. Avoid corn with dry or brown husks, as this indicates age.

Don’t Skip the Oil: The olive oil isn’t just for flavor – it’s crucial for achieving that perfect crispy exterior. Use about 2 teaspoons per ear and brush evenly to ensure all surfaces are coated. This prevents sticking and promotes even browning.

The air fryer creates a beautiful golden-brown exterior while keeping the kernels tender and juicy inside. You’ll get that ideal contrast of textures that makes corn on the cob so satisfying.

Start with simple salt and pepper, then experiment with your favorite seasonings like chili powder, garlic powder, or herbs. The olive oil base helps seasonings stick perfectly to every kernel.

    Ingredients

    • 2 fresh ears of corn corn on the cob
    • 4 teaspoons olive oil
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • butter optional for serving

    Instructions

    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
    • Peel off the husks and remove the silk from the corn. Rinse the corn under running water and pat dry with paper towels.
    • Lightly brush each ear of corn with olive oil. This will help the corn develop a nice crispy texture as it cooks.
    • Sprinkle salt and pepper over the oiled corn, adjusting the amount to your taste preference.
    • Place the prepared corn in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not overcrowded to allow even cooking. (Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook the corn in batches to ensure proper air circulation.)
    • Air fry the corn at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 10-15 minutes. Turn the corn halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning. The corn should be tender and slightly browned when done.
    • Carefully remove the corn from the air fryer basket. Let them cool for a moment before serving. Top with a pat of butter and serve.

    Notes

Use What You Need: Just make as many ears as you need, you’ll need about 2 teaspoon of oil per ear of corn.
Thoroughly Remove: Be thorough while removing the silk from the corn so that they all come off. I like to wash them under a little warm water to help remove the silks.
Use Your Fav Oil: While olive oil is recommended, you can experiment with other oils like melted butter or avocado oil for a different flavor profile.
Experiment with Seasoning: Beyond salt and pepper, feel free to experiment with other seasonings like chili powder, garlic powder, or herbs to suit your taste preferences.
Pair Accordingly: Corn on the cob pairs excellently with a wide variety of dishes, especially grilled meats and summer salads.
Caution: The corn will be hot when it comes out of the air fryer, so use caution when handling. Allowing it to cool enough to eat.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I cook corn on the cob in the husk in my air fryer?

While this recipe removes the husk for better seasoning adhesion and crispiness, you can cook corn in the husk. Simply trim the silk ends, soak the husked corn in water for 10 minutes, then air fry at 375°F for 12-15 minutes. The husk will steam the corn, creating a different but delicious texture.

What’s the best way to remove corn silk before air frying?

Start by peeling back the husks completely, then use your hands to pull off as much silk as possible. Run the corn under warm water while brushing with a clean kitchen towel or soft brush to remove stubborn silk strands. Pat completely dry before oiling.

How should I store leftover air fryer corn?

Store cooked corn in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container. To reheat, place back in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes, or microwave for 30-60 seconds. The corn can also be cut off the cob and used in salads or other dishes.
