Super Bowl Recipe Roundup
For me the most important thing about watching the Super Bowl is not which teams are playing, but what food we’ll be eating. I follow football just a little bit. I mostly like to cheer for local players. I’ll probably root for the 49ers, but I would be much happier if it had been Alex Smith that was leading their team. Do you have a favorite team?
To help you make your Super Bowl menu planning easier (I’m still planning mine), I decided to do a Super Bowl roundup and share some of my past recipes that would be perfect for the big game, as well as some links to other Super Bowl recipe roundups.
If you’d like to start off with something a little healthier, try Baked Southwestern Egg Rolls, or Caprese on a Stick.
Pizza is always perfect football food, and my favorite Super Bowl recipe is my Easy Pizza Monkey Bread. On Tuesday, I’m doing a Google+ hangout to show how easy it is to make. I’ll post the video on Barbara Bakes later this week. Also, be sure and watch the other Super Bowl Plus Week of Champions Google+ hangouts this week as well.
Of course no Super Bowl menu would be complete at my house without dessert. My Peanut Butter Nutella Cookies are always a hit. Or maybe this year at half time I should bring out a giant Chocolate Chip Coconut Skookie.
My husband loves to munch on old fashioned, gooey Caramel Corn during the big game. I always like to have bowls of candy, usually M&Ms (both plain and peanut), and Skittles and cashews for my youngest sons.
The boys all like to drink Dr. Pepper. I’ll just stick to water with a little lemon and save my calories for the food.
Have you decided what’s on your menu for the Super Bowl?
